Our story
Our love of books started early.
Dan visited his first book fair at the age of nine, and by sixteen, he was helping his parents, Elizabeth and Alan Ahern of Ivelet Books, sell rare and collectible books at fairs across the UK.
Beth has always had an interest in books too, drawn to their stories, sense of history, and the connections they create.
A lifelong pursuit
What began as a childhood fascination has grown into a lifelong pursuit – sourcing, curating, and sharing unique finds with others who appreciate books for their tangibility, the history they hold, and the way they capture knowledge and stories from a specific moment in time.
Specialisms
Today, we specialise in books on architecture, the garden, and natural history – subjects we’ve been passionate about for many years. We’re particularly drawn to how houses and gardens have evolved over time, and the people and movements that have shaped them. With this in mind, we carefully choose books that reflect these stories, celebrating their historical significance and timeless relevance.
